Wallpaper! I know, right?! When I think about it, it makes me twitch a little.. I am an 80's baby - so I remember when it was ugly and the technology was terrible and that my mom said "I will NEVER do this again!" (I am pretty sure she still feels that way.. but she said the same thing about tile and she is currently redoing her kitchen backsplash..) and don't get me started on layering the boarder over the hideous pattern that was running the length of the wall in the first place.. yuck! Whew.. glad I got that off my chest.
BUT - the good news - is that its a trend again and the peel and stick options are just as bright and beautiful as their more permanent counterparts.. and the choices!!! SO many choices!!

Just like choosing paint, you should get samples
Did you know you can ask for small sample sized pieces and hang them in the space you are considering altering? Observing the wallpaper at different times of day and in different kinds of light, can make narrowing down the choices easier.
Theme
Does it flow with the other theme(s) in the home? What can you see from other rooms and does it affect the look or style you are going for?
Color
Keep in mind that dark colors, prints, and patterns can make a room appear smaller; light colors can help a room feel larger; cool colors will create a tranquil affect and warm colors will give the appearance of coziness.
Patterns
When choosing a pattern, consider the pattern scale and the space where you plan to use the wallpaper - large scale patterns can make the room feel more intimate and small scale patterns create an overall sense of airiness and light.
No matter how you choose your wallpaper, ask a pro for help on deciding how much to buy.. one doesn't want to have to run back and forth to the store or wait to wallpaper the rest of the room for the next shipment - always purchase one more roll then you need (that way you have extra for any miscalculations or mishaps).
