Finally! The sun is back and the temperatures outside are beginning to warm and thaw the early morning frost.. slowly in some places, but the smell of cut grass, the sound of the birds chirping in the early morning and the return of butterflies and flowers - makes us want to bring the outside in :)
To prepare for the seasonal transition from winter to spring, there are some things we can all do to freshen up our spaces as well! Read on for all of the "indoor spruce up" ideas!
Deep Clean (and purge what you aren't in love with)
Whether or not you love to do it, deep cleaning is a necessary first step as we prepare for open windows and open doors.. and I don't know about you, but I love knowing the 'germs' that are hiding in and on all of those surfaces are about to be washed away.
A short, but sweet list of places to start:
*Dust or wipe down: Ceiling fan blades, window sills, basedboards, corners, doorknobs, and light switches
In the Kitchen: clean out and wipe down ALL surfaces: appliances (including the fridge), under the stove, in cabinets (purge some of those plastic cups along the way) garbage disposal, dishwasher, walls and vent hood.
In bedrooms: clean ALL linens and purge in your closets to make way for a the wardrobe change if you are in a geographical location that has very different clothes for each season.
In bathrooms: clean grout, shower heads and scrub down any and all surfaces that can be splashed and grow mold!

Bring back light-weight throws and pillows
Each space can be thoughtlessly more comfortable with an easy exchange of linens for evening snuggles when the air conditioning kicks on or. a nice breeze begins to blow through the open window.

Faux and Real Greenery or flowers
Botanical Art
Faux greenery and botanical art are immediately uplifting in any environment if you thoughtfully plan and choose the placement and don't overdo the installation. Real plants can help the air and your space stay cleaner longer - as they naturally filter the air and keep dust at bay.

Simple Vignettes and Collections (think tea cups, pitchers with small birds or bunnies, or some great ceramic pieces in neutral colors)
Design pro tip: Groups of three (that can, but don't have to, flow/go together)
