Hey y'all! Welcome back to my blog here at Free to Design.. I wanted to share some simple and easy to implement, storage solution advice with you.
If you are anything like me, your house can be a little bit chaotic when its time to head out the door to go just about anywhere.. to the grocery store, to swim practice, to school, to a meeting - "Mom! Where is _____?" - "Honey, where is _______?" - "I can't find ______!" And on, and on.. As mom, wife, and sometimes daughter - we are the keepers and knowers of all the things. Some days, this role can just be particularly exhausting and when it comes to making smooth work of daily activities - we don't have time or energy left to think of solutions or 'hacks' that will make it easier.
The other day, a friend shared a great lunch making hack that I had seen somewhere out there on the internet, multiple times, but just never put it in play, until this year! Man! What a life changing moment when you get to see the solution carried through and the relief it can bring to all involved :)
The following 5 Easy to Implement Storage Solutions are some of the best time savers that I have been able to use in our home, and while they may not ALL be new to you, I hope it inspires you in a fresh way and that it restores tranquility in your home.
1. Where is the TV remote? Everything in its place and a place for everything.
2. I just love a pretty basket for pretty much everything. Especially in the cooler months - a basket can be a great place for your movie watching cuddle-up blankets.
3. A make-up routine PR producer. Have regular items that always end up out on the bathroom counter because they are used multiple times during the day? Try a cute container that doubles as a catch-all, keeping this toothpaste tubes and make-up brushes out of the way!
4. So much jewelry, so little space. (This one is my favorite!) If you are like me, accessorizing is a process that goes with each outfit, and you might have the perfect earrings and statement necklace to go with just about every outfit in your closet.. why not also make them part of your decor?!
5. A command hook really can solve so many problems... stick one to the back of any door - and you have instantaneous storage!
